ENJYRA Free

ENJYRA Lab Setup

Set up only the tools named by your lesson. Run each readiness command on your own computer and compare the result; this page does not execute local commands.

Core tools

Terminal and Git

git --version

Expected: a Git version prints without an error.

Python

python3 --version
python3 -m pip --version

Expected: Python 3 and pip versions print from the environment you intend to use.

Docker lessons

docker --version
docker info
docker run --rm hello-world

Expected: the CLI version prints, Docker Engine returns server information, and the hello-world container exits successfully. Docker practical lessons also need roughly 2 GB free disk. A GPU is not required.

Local AI lessons

docker compose -f labs/local-ai/compose.yaml up -d ollama
curl http://localhost:11434/api/version
docker exec enjyra-ollama ollama list

Expected: the pinned Ollama container starts, the local API reports its version, and llama3.2:3b appears in the model list after the initial model setup. Allow approximately 10 GB free disk when the runtime and model are not already cached. Internet is needed only for missing image or model downloads. A dedicated GPU is not required; the verified macOS Docker configuration used CPU inference.

Operating systems

macOS

Use Terminal or another shell. Docker Desktop provides the Docker Engine and the default Ollama runtime for these labs.

Windows

Use PowerShell or WSL as specified by the lesson. Start Docker Desktop before Docker and local-AI checks.

Linux

Use your normal shell. Confirm your user can run Docker; the shared Compose file starts the Ollama service.
